Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Network Problems, LLC (“IHMG,” “we”) collects through ihatemygym.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to consumers who take the quiz and to gym owners who create partner accounts.
1. What we collect
- Consumers: name, email, phone number, ZIP code, your current gym (if you tell us), quiz answers (budget, goals, schedule, preferences, reasons you want to leave your gym, and any free-text note), visit requests, and survey responses.
- Gym owners: name, email, password (stored as a one-way hash), the locations you claim, profile and offer details, lead activity, and billing history. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us; we keep only a reference, the card brand, and the last four digits.
- Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed, timestamps) and email delivery and open/click data from our email provider. We use a session cookie for gym-owner and admin logins; we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
- To match you with gyms and explain the match. Our matching runs on our own rules; we use an AI service (OpenAI) to write the short explanation, to read your free-text note, and to screen submissions for spam. Your quiz answers, without your name, email, or phone, are sent to that service for those purposes.
- To find nearby gyms and geocode ZIP codes using Google Maps Platform (your ZIP is sent to Google; your name and contact details are not).
- To send the emails you requested: results, booking confirmations and reminders, and follow-up surveys.
- To let a partner gym host the visit you requested (see Section 3).
- To bill partner gyms, resolve disputes about whether a join occurred, prevent fraud, and improve the Service (for example, which gym types people who share your complaints end up joining).
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
3. Who we share it with
- The gym you ask to visit. When you request a visit at a partner gym we give that gym your name, email, phone, requested time, and your quiz answers, including your reasons for leaving your current gym and any note. Partner gyms are contractually limited to using this to host your visit and offer you a membership. We do not share your details with gyms you did not request to visit, and we do not tell your current gym anything.
- Service providers that process data for us: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), Google Maps Platform (places and geocoding), OpenAI (text generation and spam screening), and Inngest (scheduled jobs). Each receives only what it needs.
- Legal. When required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in a merger or sale of the business.
- We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Your choices
- Email: every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link. Emails needed to complete a visit you requested may still be sent.
- Phone: we collect your phone so the gym can reach you about your visit. We do not send marketing texts.
- Access, correction, deletion: email contact@ihatemygym.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may keep records needed for billing disputes, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.
- Gym owners can edit their profile from the dashboard and close their account by emailing us.
5. Retention
Consumer quiz and lead records are kept for as long as needed to run the follow-up surveys and resolve billing (generally up to 18 months after your last activity), then deleted or anonymized. Partner billing records are kept for seven years as required for tax and accounting. Google place data is refreshed regularly and cached per Google’s terms.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting and database providers; passwords are hashed; card numbers never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and you use the Service at your own risk.
7. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.
8. State privacy rights
Residents of New Jersey, California, and other states with privacy laws may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sales, or profiling. We do not sell data or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise any right, email contact@ihatemygym.com; we will verify your request using the email on file. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
9. Changes and contact
